Navigating the Path for Students Who Learn Differently
GPS College Consulting’s mission is to make the college search and application process as stress free as possible. Our approach is to provide one-on-one guidance and advice tailored to each student’s individual needs. GPS works with students of all academic abilities and specializes in students with learning differences, ADHD, and other challenges that can impact learning.
We collaborate with students and their families as early as freshman year to understand the student’s strengths and challenges, tap into their interests, goals and potential, and navigate them through the search and admissions process. Finding the college or post-secondary program where your child will thrive educationally, socially and emotionally is GPS’s overarching goal.
GPS takes a customized approach to the college search and application process. We work closely with our students to ensure a smooth, organized, and rewarding college planning and transition process. Following our initial consultation, we review the student’s educational history and learning profile and devise a plan for your child. We offer an array of services, including college list development, essay coaching, application guidance, and comprehensive transition and college planning.
GPS specializes in working with students with learning challenges such as ADHD, executive function disorders, non-verbal learning disabilities, and autism spectrum disorders. We recognize how confusing and daunting the college planning process can be, especially for a student with learning differences. We work closely with students and their families to develop a successful transition plan to college or post-secondary programs and guide our students every step of the way.
To say we were pleased working with Beth is truly an understatement. Her kindness, knowledge, guidance, and persistent dedication made the college process so much more manageable and less stressful. Beth really understood my son and issues relating to students with learning differences. She was always a “step ahead” in supporting my son through the confusing application process, meeting deadlines, and maximizing his chances for acceptances. What a relief to say that my son has so many wonderful options and we owe a great deal to Beth.

We cannot imagine going through the college process without Beth's guidance and support. We are grateful for her understanding of our son's needs and her in-depth knowledge of the support programs available at colleges across the country. Beth's passion for helping students with learning differences is felt at every step and we couldn't recommend her more highly.

I cannot say enough about Beth…My daughter, who has some unique and challenging issues, was referred to Beth through another professional and we could not be happier with our experience. Beth was (and continues to be) extremely knowledgeable, resourceful, patient, and responsive. At Beth’s suggestion, my daughter ended up applying to colleges and programs that she would never have applied to. From the initial selections to the application process and beyond Beth was there every step of the way. No question was too big or small and the amount of stress that she alleviated was invaluable. I truly don’t know how we would have survived this without Beth. Cannot recommend Beth more highly and now my daughter is off to Tufts in the Fall.

The college process can be daunting, but I can’t think of a better person to go through it with than Beth. Beth helped me with every part of the process and showed me that it was possible. She is so knowledgeable as well as one of the most productive, kind, caring, and insightful people that I know. I applied to various colleges, yet the college that I now have ended up at was introduced to me by Beth. She guided me through my applications, my essays, the decision process, and encouraged me and advised me the entire way through and made me feel comfortable. Beth also helped give me confidence. I am so excited to begin my college journey and there is no question that I wouldn’t be where I am without Beth.
